| Jane Goodall comes to Santa Fe, NM October 2005 |

| Excitement barely describes how we felt when we found out that Dr. Goodall was coming to town and that our group would be able to fly our Peace Dove at her talk in Santa Fe. We practiced walking with our dove and holding up those heavy poles to make her fly and look beautiful. The kids were SO PROUD and felt so honored by the opportunity to share their love of Roots & Shoots with others that you would have thought it was each of their birthdays. After Dr. Goodall's talk and after some of our children were able to ask her some questions we went out back for photos of the children with her and our dove. It was a great experience for all the children. They really responded to her gentle nature. We're looking forward to seeing her again. |

| Jane Goodall returns to Albuquerque March 2007 |

| Our area was lucky enough to have Dr. Goodall return for yet another inspirational visit. This visit was held at the Open Space Visiting Center in Albuquerque's west side. Of course having Dr Goodall come to town serves as a huge energy boost to our little group and it renews our enthusiasm and determination. This year our group was again invited to fly our huge Peace Dove and to share some of our favorite things about being active with Roots & Shoots. Four of our senior members shared their thoughts and presented Dr. Goodall with gifts from our group. It was during this visit that Dr. Goodall along with Mayor Chavez planted the millionth tree as a part of the Trees New Mexico program. Our children each were able to add a scoop full of soil to the base of the tree so that they too were a part of this historic occasion. |
