Most of our member families are members of Los Poblanos Organics, so asking for a tour and talk with their farm manager was only natural. The children were able to tour the farm, it's greenhouses, the chicken coops and to learn more about the importance of farming organically, both for our health and our environment.
Many of the children chose to join the summer program offered by LPO and take their love of gardening to the next level. This program allowed them to follow their crops from soil preparation through harvest and selling at the local farmer's market.
We hope to do more with LPO in the future. |
