In conjunction with the Rio Grande Zoo and the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge our group coordinated an educational lecture where the children were able to learn about the struggle of the Mexican Grey Wolf.  They were able to learn about how they have become endangered and the efforts of organizations such as Defenders of Wildlife, Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge and the Rio Grande Zoo to work together to help bring them back from the brink of extinction.  It was helpful for the children to learn about the struggles of farmers as well as wolves in our area and how the balance is essential to the success of the wolf.  Also, learning that the zoo plays a role in helping the wolves, not just  fun place to go and see animals, really opened their eyes to the overall potetial of the zoo in their community.

In the future we hope to be able to do more to help the efforts of these organizations and to do our part to help the wolf population.
